McGill University Health Centre Intensive Care Unit (ICU) nurse Tenzin Jimpa was recently one of the subjects of a documentary filmed by PixCom. The film focuses on Montrealers of different cultural backgrounds. Jimpa, who works the night shift in the ICU of the Royal Victoria Hospital (RVH) site, brings a great deal of the warmth and spirituality of her Tibetan roots to her work.

Play it safe on the hills this winter

On the last run of her first snowboarding lesson in early January, 23-year-old McGill student Christina Barakett decided it was time to try a 180-degree turn - an intermediate snowboarding move. But part way into the turn, Barakett took a plunge that landed her in the Emergency Department of the McGill University Health Centre (MUHC) Montreal General Hospital (MGH) site with a broken left wrist.

Blushing bride? Or just a symptom of Rosacea?

Some estimates cite that as many as two million Canadians suffer from this low-profile disease. Rosacea (pronounced rose-AY-sha) is simply defined as a chronic (long-term) skin disease that causes redness and swelling, primarily on the face, but also on the eyelids and other parts of the head and upper torso.
