Professor Vedat Verter wins Canadian Operations Research Society award

Professor Vedat Verter has won the 2007 Service Prize from the Canadian Operations Research Society (CORS). This award is given to one or two people each year by the Society to acknowledge an outstanding contribution to the development of operations research in Canada.

Children's writer and community activist wins translation prize at McGill

Published author and translator KerryAnn Cochrane was awarded the McGill Associates Prize in Translation (French to English) at the 2007 Spring Convocation. This prize is awarded annually to the student with the best academic record over the entire Certificate in Translation Program.

Telephone problems

There is a telephone problem affecting some buildings on the downtown campus in the vicinity of McTavish, Peel and Doctor Penfield Ave. Some of the buildings experiencing problems include: Education, McIntyre, Purvis Hall. More details to follow when they become available.

Imaging applications will be unavailable this Friday, June 8, from 7:30 am to 9 am approximately, due to system maintenance. This affects those using AX applications directly or through Banner. Users should close all AX applications at end of day Thursday, June 7, and not log onto any AX application (Document Manager, Index Capture, Web Access) during the maintenance period on Friday.
