Même si leurs noms different parfois, les principaux programmes de MBA offerts dans les universités sont le MBA à temps plein, le MBA à temps partiel et le MBA pour cadres, ou Executive MBA (EMBA), qui s'adresse aux cadres expérimentés. 

... La moyenne pour les étudiants de l'Université McGill au MBA est de cinq ans. L'EMBA s'adresse à des personnes qui ont souvent déjà une fonction de cadre.
