Sir Marc Feldmann, 2014 Canada Gairdner International Laureate, Head of the Kennedy Institute of Rheumatology, University of Oxford, Headington, Oxford, UK, will deliver his lecture, ANTI-TNF THERAPY: Discovery, present status and what might the future hold? as part of the 2014 Gairdner National Program. Sir Marc Feldmann is being recognized "For the discovery of anti-TNF therapy for the treatment of rheumatoid arthritis and other inflammatory diseases".

Dr. Jeffrey V. Ravetch, 2012 Canada Gairdner International Laureate, Theresa & Eugene M. Lang Professor of The Rockefeller University, New York, USA  will also deliver a lecture. Dr. Ravetch’s talk is entitled, “Fc structural diversity dictates diverse biological functions ". Dr. Ravetch was recognized in 2012 for his for his seminal work on identifying the Fc receptors of antibodies, which play a key role in the immune response, and for establishing their critical role in autoimmune diseases and cancer.

The 2014 Gairdner National Program Lecture will take place on Tuesday, October 28, 2014 at 1:00 p.m. in the Jeanne Timmins Amphitheatre of the Neuro. A reception will follow. For more information www.neuroevents.mcgill.ca
