Congratulations to Dr. Mary Ellen Macdonald and her colleagues, who were awarded a CIHR grant for their study on The oral health and dental care pathways of humanitarian migrants: Advancing a mixed methods program of research.

Congratulations to Dr. Elisa Ruano Cea, who has been selected as the 2018-19 Emerging Scholar in Medical Education effective July 1, 2018. Elisa has developed an expertise in Competency-Based Medical Education (CBME) and Competency By Design (CBD) through her various leadership roles and involvement in the development and implementation of projects and initiatives within the McGill Pediatrics Program.

Congratulations to Dr. Peter Nugus, who is the recipient of the 2017 Transition to Clinical Practice (TCP) Family Medicine Teaching Award. TCP is a unique six-month component of the medical curriculum where students are given the opportunity to apply their knowledge, to practice their skills, and to learn key aspects of various disciplines without being responsible for patient care.

Congratulations to Drs. Richard and Sylvia Cruess, who have received the AOA 2017 Edward D. Harris Professionalism Award for standing at the forefront of medicine’s modern day professionalism movement

Congratulations to Dr. Linda Snell, who was honoured with the Lifetime Achievement Award for Leadership in Education. This Award recognizes sustained excellence in leadership and innovation, as well as the active integration of teaching and learning with inquiry, scholarship and research. Linda accepted her Award during the Convocation ceremonies on October 31, 2017.

Congratulations to Dr. Fraser Moore, who was presented with the 2017 Osler Award for Outstanding Teaching in the Faculty of Medicine.

Congratulations to Dr. Tim Dubé, who along with colleagues, Drs. Evelyn Constantin, Carlos Gomez-Garibello, and Armand Aalamian, received a CBD Residency Implementation Award by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada for their project titled Responding to capacity building needs to implement Competence by Design (CBD).  

Congratulation to Drs. Richard and Sylvia Cruess, who were recognized by the MUHC Foundation on June 8 for their exceptional contributions to patient care and medical education. The MUHC Foundation also announced the launch of a $10 million fundraising campaign in honour of Drs. Cruess. All of the funds raised will support continued excellence in research at the MUHC.
