This summer, with support from the Faculty of Medicine’s Department of Anatomy and Cell Biology, McGill Global Health Programs and the MUHC’s Centre for Global Surgery, McGill medical students had the opportunity to participate in exchanges with students from the University of Rwanda-School of Medicine and l’Université Quisqueya in Haiti.
This year, 12 McGillians were among Governor General David Johnston’s list of citizens named to or promoted within the Order of Canada. Appointees include Justice Louise Otis, an adjunct professor of law at McGill; former Law Dean Stephen Toope (pictured); and Montreal Museum of Fine Arts Director Nathalie Bondil.
McGill Kinesiology researcher Julie Côté and her team are looking for ways to reduce or even prevent the kinds of muscular and skeletal pains that affect office workers. Their research has identified promising benefits to using treadmill work stations, which allow for minor movements and position adjustments every few minutes.
