Resumé & Cover Letter
Your resumé (Curriculum Vitae, CV or CACEE application form) is similar to a promotional brochure: its purpose is to highlight your most relevant skills and most impressive accomplishments. The goal of a well-crafted resumé is to interest an employer and obtain an interview.
Cover letters provide you with an opportunity to demonstrate a good match between the job requirements, your background and your interest in the position and your communication skills. It’s important to use specific examples to illustrate the connections, and tailor it to a particular position.
Make an appointment with a Career Advisor or sign in to myFuture to view workshop dates.
Interview Practice
Employers expect you to be thoroughly prepared for your interview. Preparation and practice are key. There are many print and online resources available to you (See Resources) to get you started.
We strongly encourage all Engineering students selected for interviews (for internship or full-time positions) to meet with a Career Advisor for a practice interview session. You can also attend one of our Workshops (view workshop dates on myFuture) or register for Engineering Mock Interview Days for a practice session with an industry recruiter.
