Whether you are looking for a graduate school; are unsure about what you can do with your degree; need help composing a cover letter; are looking for information on scholarships, careers, or industries; needing tips on CV writing or specifics on a program of study, the CaPS Career Resource Centre offers a wide array of resources for you.

Our collection at the downtown campus and Macdonald campus contains over 3,000 items, including CDs, DVDs and VHS tapes, in English and French, which span the career exploration process. From embarking upon higher learning, exploring careers and occupations, to volunteering, studying abroad and engaging in personal and professional development, we have what you need to plan your future career.

Downtown Campus Resource Centre details


Loan Policy

A maximum of two items may be borrowed overnight in exchange for a valid McGill I.D. card or a $10.00 deposit per item. Books may be borrowed after 4pm and must be returned by 10am the next working day.

Resource Room

We offer students access to three computers with Internet, Adobe Acrobat Reader, and Microsoft Office Suite. You also have access to a printer at the cost of ten cents per page.

Failing to return the Centre's material on time, losing or damaging material:

  • You will be blocked from accessing myFuture and all the CaPS services if you fail to return the Centre's material on time.
  • You will need to pay for the replacement cost of items which are lost or damaged.

  • Current Jobs in Liberal Arts: An entry-level employment bulletin for the Liberal Arts Professions.
  • International Career Employment Weekly: A comprehensive source of international careers for professionals.
  • TIE - The International Educator: Hundreds of overseas teaching jobs from top international schools around the world.
  • University Affairs: Canadian higher education and academic jobs.

Online Career Resources

  • Going Global (require VPN): Worldwide job and internship listings, employer profiles, and country-specific career information.
  • Big Guide (require VPN): A comprehensive interactive web site that helps students and young professionals build global career skills.
  • Vault Guide (Career Insider) (require VPN): Downloadable career guidebooks, insider company surveys, industry profile, career advice. Registration is required.
