Space Data

McGill currently owns 255 buildings, generating 854,835 gross square meters of space.

Space data is collected and analyzed at a number of levels, from the overall campus to individual buildings, floors and rooms.  Through the collection and analysis of this data, we are able to evaluate space use and make recommendations as to how to use this space more efficiently according to the University’s needs.

In addition to assisting us in managing our space, this data drives the annual capital and building operating grants received from Quebec’s Ministre de l'Enseignement supérieur, de la Recherche, de la Science et de la Technologie (MESRST).
