Outdoor Events: Frequently Asked Questions

Timeline for approval

Typically, the waiting time is one week. However, if a large-sized gathering is planned or if alcohol will be served, the waiting time may run from between four to six weeks.

The best advice is to apply for your permit well ahead of time. This means thoughtfully planning your entire event, giving attention to who will be attending and where the event will be held.

Note: If your event will serve or sell alcohol at it, complete and submit the Alcohol_Permit Form separately.  Departments must submit their Alcohol Permit form 10 working days prior to the event.  All student groups and external organizations must submit their Alcohol Permit form at least 45 days before the event.
