We can take great pride in reaching this historic milestone at the halfway point to Campaign McGill, thanks to the unwavering support of our extraordinary alumni and friends.
My sincere thanks go to McGill’s senior academic leaders for collaborating on the Campaign’s vital university-wide framework. It is a pleasure working with my colleagues to realize the compelling vision of Principal and Vice-Chancellor Heather Munroe-Blum, who believes “strong, strategic and globally oriented universities play perhaps the most important role in society today.”
I would also like to extend a very special thank you to all our volunteers. Working alongside our dedicated staff, our volunteers help to bring Campaign McGill’s vision to all corners of the globe. Their tireless commitment is deeply appreciated.
We are truly fortunate to have such a loyal and committed alumni base. In a recent affinity survey, it was no surprise to learn that more than 84 per cent of respondents are proud of their association with McGill. And it’s gratifying that 60 per cent stated they believe alumni support makes a difference to McGill, and 61 per cent know that government support is not sufficient to maintain McGill’s excellence.
This is our clarion call to keep the momentum going in the second half of the Campaign. As the economy begins to stabilize, let’s continue to rally together and work toward the Campaign’s vision for our great university. Thank you for continuing to blaze a trail into the future.
