“When I started studying music, especially cello, I knew this would be for me,” says Chloé Dominguez, MMus’05.

Now a doctoral student who performs with the acclaimed Schulich String Quartet, Dominguez says her choice to study at McGill’s Schulich School of Music “was the best decision I could have made, because of all the opportunities it gave me. I’m really happy with the way I’ve developed as a musician.”

Clearly, others are happy, too. Dominguez is the third winner of the Golden Violin Award, the top privately funded music scholarship in Canada. Created by the School’s benefactor, Seymour Schulich, BSc’61, MBA’65, DLitt’04, the award is presented annually to an exceptional string player who shows great promise for a performing career.
