Brain@McGill and ZNZ are two leading competence centers each comprising more than 100 research groups covering a broad spectrum of basic and clinical research areas in neuroscience (see www.neuroscience.ethz.ch/research and apps.mni.mcgill.ca/ipn/ipnprofessors/)
A research agreement was signed in October 2010 to strengthen existing collaborations and develop new interactions in neuroscience research and training between McGill University and the Neuroscience Center Zurich (ZNZ).
As part of this initiative, short-term seed funding will be provided to support joint neuroscience research activities, which may represent a first step towards the pursuit of more comprehensive joint external research funding. Applications should involve at least one neuroscientist affiliated with McGill University and at least one researcher affiliated with ZNZ. When adding strength to the proposal, investigators from the University of Oxford (www.neuroscience.ox.ac.uk) may also be included in the application. The added value of the joint effort must be demonstrated clearly. One group leader team can participate in maximally one application per funding round,
There will be two competitive funding rounds per year. Dates for the next two rounds are given below- future rounds will likely follow similar time frames.
