Get CASH for your books with the McGill Bookstore Textbook Buyback Service!

The McGill bookstore wants to buy back your old books. Come into the store with course textbooks and any new or used publication and sell it for cash.  Visit the bookstore website to find out what your book is worth. Books are purchased for McGill and 25 other Canadian universities based on supply and demand. The benefit of this service is that it is safe and reliable. Though all books can be sold, only current and correct editions of course books will be resold in the bookstore as used books.  It is a fast, secure way to immediately exchange used books for money. Our Fall textbook buyback is in full swing. Come by betweeen 10am and 5pm, weekdays until September 11th, 2015.

Starting Aug. 20th, all online purchases will automatically be entered into the Bookstore Back-to-School contest. 3 online purchases will be randomly selected and the transactions will be reimbursed by the Bookstore, up to a value of $500 per transaction. Order your textbooks online today!

Terms and Conditions (Textbooks Online):

Starting August 20th and ending September 15th, 2015 all online transactions will be automatically entered into the McGill Bookstore BTS Contest. On September 25th, 2015, the McGill Bookstore will randomly select 3 online transactions and will reimburse the value of each transaction up to a value of $500 per transaction. Winners will be notified by email and will have 24 hours to respond. The failure to respond within the 24 hours will result in the default of the prize and a new winner will be selected. Winners will be asked to have photos taken at the Bookstore to be placed on the Bookstore website and Facebook page.

Ways to Save Money:

We are continuously adopting new practices and services to try and provide the best value to our customers. The following are ways to help save you money with regards to course materials.

  • Textbook rentals: You can now opt to rent your books instead of purchasing them. This option can save you up to 40% of the original cost.
  • Digital course packs: We build course packs in house to save you money on books. This year we have introduced digital course packs for additional savings. You can save 40-50% of the original print cost when you opt to purchase a digital course pack.
  •  Used textbooks: We offer used textbooks for many of the courses taught at McGill. This option reduces the price of a book significantly.
  •  Textbook Buyback: We buy back books from students all year round. This option can save you up to 50% of the original value of the book.
