Presentation of the Bloomberg Manulife Prize - Toronto

The prize presentation for our 2011 winner, Dr. Steven Blair, took place the the MaRS Discovery Centre in Toronto on Wednesday January 11, 2012. The high-profile event was attended by McGill Principal Heather Munroe-Blum, founders and sponsors, and media, as well as prominent McGill alumni and friends of the University. Dr. Blair presented a fascinating talk on his research, followed by a question and answer period with Beatrice Politi, health correspondent for Global Toronto. The public event was followed by a private dinner for our winner and VIP guests.

Bloomberg Manulife Round Table Discussion - Montreal

In addition to the keynote address, our inaugural winner further discussed his research at a packed lunchtime event in Montreal on Thursday January 12, 2012. During the talk, entitled "The Big Fat Truth about Obesity", Dr. Blair gave a more detailed overview of his findings, and answered questions from the public, Jill Barker of The Gazette, and a McGill PhD student representing the Faculty of Education.

Academic Seminar - Montreal

Dr. Blair rounded off his visit to Canada with an academic seminar entitled "Physical Inactivity: The Biggest Public Health Problem of the 21st Century" on January 13, 2012, in the McGill Strathcona Anatomy and Dentistry Building, which was well recieved by students across a wide range of faculties, including kinesiology, medicine, and education.
