Course Sequence

Two suggested sequences of courses are shown below. Which sequence you follow depends on whether you entered the program in the fall (September) or the winter (January). If you entered the program with advanced standing (e.g., credits transferred from other institutions), or with outstanding entrance requirements (e.g., additional 100-level courses that you still need to take), or if you take an internship, exchange semester, summer course, etc., then you will need to adjust the course sequence to suit your specific situation.

Note that the two course sequences shown below are structured so that you can complete the program requirements in seven terms exactly. However, note that this means you will be taking 16 credits in your "downtown term" (Term 4 in Sequence 1 and Term 5 in Sequence 2). In the past some students have found this to be too heavy a load due to travel time between campuses etc. Thus, you may wish to take only 1 course from set B,C,D instead of 2. This would, of course, affect your course load in the remaining terms or your program completion time.

Also, please note that these sequences are not the official program description and are posted here for your convenience only. You should carefully read and understand the official program description, which is printed  in the McGill Undergraduate Calendar (http://www.mcgill.ca/study/). The program description in the Calendar for the academic year in which you entered the B.Eng. program is the one by which you must abide to complete your degree requirements.

If you have any questions or concerns about the program or your course schedule, you should consult the program advisor, Dr. Grant Clark (grant [dot] clark [at] mcgill [dot] ca).
