Orientation and advising

Orientation for newly admitted U1 students is held during the month of August.

Please take note that during July and August, academic advising meetings will be made by appointment only. Please be sure to e-mail your availability as well as your student ID number to christine [dot] laberge [at] mcgill [dot] ca, an appointment will be set-up.

Advising Appointments (returning students)

 Definition of a returning student (U0, U1, U2, U3)

A returning student is defined as one who has attended at least one term in the Faculty of Arts or Science, or another Faculty, and is registered for the current Winter session. A returning student falls into one of the following categories:

  1. student is currently registered in a departmental program;
  2. student is currently registered in the Arts or Science Freshman program;
  3. student is currently registered as 'Non-resident' (i.e. completing a year or term away at another university) or as 'Intern' (i.e. is completing a year or term in the Internship Program for Engineering and Science, IYES);
  4. student is currently registered in another faculty and has been accepted to transfer into Arts or Science for the upcoming fall session.

Freshman students (U0) — Advising appointments with the Student Affairs Officer

All students completing a Freshman program at McGill who plan to register in Biochemistry must schedule an advising appointment with christine [dot] laberge [at] mcgill [dot] ca (Christine Laberge) during the advising period for returning students.

It is your responsibility to keep your adviser informed of any failed courses.
