Aqua Fitness

Working out in the pool offers a unique opportunity to improve overall fitness. The added resistance of the water not only works the muscles, it also trains the heart and lungs. For anyone with back or joint pain, water's forgiving properties make it easier on a body that finds land exercise too painful or strenuous.

Badminton

Improve your badminton in this unique course that uses a "practise and play" philosophy of learning. Participants will receive 20 minutes of dynamic instruction and skill development followed by 25 minutes of playing time.

Body Design - Advanced

Enjoy this advanced class geared to staff that have mastered the basic art of muscular conditioning and are looking for more challenge. This class will push your body a little harder and feature more advanced strength and conditioning exercises for a great overall workout.

Previous experience in the staff body design class is a prerequisite to registering

Body Design - Intro

Body design focuses on the muscular training and development of all of the major muscle groups. The class begins with a traditional aerobic warm-up, and moves into a series of exercises to strengthen and tone the muscles using a form of resistance including hand-held weights, weighted bars, and exercise tubing.

Hatha Yoga I

This gentle form of yoga focuses on poses (called asanas) that are moderate in nature. The class flows slowly at a self-directed pace that allows plenty of time for inner reflection. Perfect for novices, this class is an ideal way to improve flexibility and relieve stress.

Hatha Yoga II

For those who want to go deeper into the practice of hatha yoga, this course places added emphasis on awareness of breath, body, and mind. It's also designed to improve balance, strength, and flexibility.

Pilates - Intro

The goal of the Pilates method of conditioning is to obtain a high degree of core strength, full body control, spine flexibility, and improved alignment. You don't have to be an athlete or dancer to benefit from the increased body awareness and strength found through the practice of Pilates.

Power Yoga Lite

This version of yoga focuses more on the physical than the mental. Its moves are slightly more challenging than hatha yoga, and the pace is a bit faster, but there is still time to find a restful place within the body and mind at the end of the class.

Spin - Lite Cycle

Lite Cycle is a group exercise class geared to novice cyclists or would-be cyclists who have not exercised for an extended period. Carried out on specially designed stationary bicycles, this workout improves aerobic and anaerobic conditioning. Music and mental imagery are used to motivate participants throughout the workout.

Stretch and Strength

What do you get when you mix Pilates, yoga, and some traditional stretches all in one class? A great workout that not only offers the best in flexibility training but also, with the addition of strength exercises, a chance to get stronger as well as more limber. Try this wonderful fusion of both stretching and strengthening for a dynamic workout that never gets boring.

Tai Chi

Tai Chi is a series of large, flowing movements done at a slow, controlled pace. Based on the principle that overall health is dependent on the harmonious interaction between body, mind, and spirit.

Tennis
