A dozen graduates and two students from McGill University have been named to participate at the Winter Games in Vancouver, Feb. 12-28. The 14-member entourage, which includes six athletes, surpasses the previous Winter Olympics high of 10 McGillians who participated at the 2006 Games in Turin. The McGill Martlets captured their sixth consecutive Gerry Dubrule trophy as Canadian University Synchro Swim League champions on Saturday at London, Ont. McGill finished first of 15 schools with 56 points, easily out-distancing the second-place Western Ontario Mustangs, who had 46 points.
Felix Petit of Jonquiere, Que., scored twice and Alexandre Demers of Laurier Station, Que., added three helpers as the third-ranked UQTR Patriotes rallied to edge No.6-McGill 5-4 in a rare Monday night men's university hockey game before 608 at McConnell Arena.
