Who we are
The Associate Director, Dr. Jo Ann Levesque, holds a B.S.W. from the Université de Montréal, a Diploma in International Development and Cooperation and a Master's of Education from the University of Ottawa and a PhD in Instructional Technology from the Faculty of Education at the Université de Montréal.
Dr. Levesque came to McGill in the Fall of 2002 from the Social Sciences and Research Council of Canada where she had been a Program Officer with several branches of SSHRC since 1998. Previous to her time at SSHRC, Dr Levesque worked in the Department of Education at the Canadian International Development Agency (CIDA).

Research Services Officer, Dr. Heidi Hoernig, holds B.A.'s in Anthropology and Geography from the University of Calgary, and an M.A. and PhD in Planning from the University of Waterloo. She also held a SSHRC postdoctoral fellowship at the centre - Urbanisation Culture Société de l'Institut national de la recherche scientifique.
Dr. Hoernig brings to Research Services a breadth of experience in social science research, in areas of immigration, religious diversity, urban planning, downtown revitalization, planning policy monitoring and evaluation, waste management, and indigenous knowledge. Prior to her academic career, Dr. Hoernig worked in Aboriginal community development and criminal justice in northern Alberta.
