Women's Studies Internship Program
The Faculty of Arts Women's Studies Program encourages Women's Studies undergraduate students to undertake internships with organizations locally, nationally, or internationally. Students wishing to apply for an internship should visit the Administrative and Student Affairs Coordinator for more information. Students may also take the initiative to find suitable internships themselves. It should be noted that it is not expected that interns will receive payment although sponsoring organizations are free to pay interns if they wish. Internships can be arranged for any term, stretched over two terms, or done during the summer. Because of the heavy workload involved, students may wish to reduce their course load when completing an internship, or to carry it out in the summer.
Women's Studies Internship Course (WMST 494)
WMST 494, the Women's Studies Internship course (3 credits), involves a minimum of 150 hour internship followed by the completion of a 20 page academic paper based on the internship. This means that students register for WMST 494 for the semester following the internship. All necessary forms will be provided by the Administrative and Student Affairs Coordinator or can be found on this website.
WMST 494 Eligibility Requirements
