The application review process begins when we receive your web-based or paper application and the required fee. We create a numbered file for your application and send you an Acknowledgment Notice by email. As the documents supporting your application (transcripts, etc.) are received, they are added to your file. Please remember that you are responsible for completing your application and McGill normally does NOT send reminders about outstanding items to complete files. You may view the status of your application(s), including the receipt of supporting documents at: Knowing your application status. The precise date on which McGill will communicate its decision on your application is determined by several factors:
- the completeness of your application by the deadline and the standard file review schedule;
- the type of educational institution you last attended (see list below);
- the specific program(s) to which you applied (see note below regarding limited enrollment programs).
I have applied for an undergraduate program in: Dentistry, Law, Medicine, Music, and/or Religious Studies.
These programs each have their own schedules for admission decision making. Please refer to each faculty website: Dentistry, Law, Medicine, Music, and/or Religious Studies.
I have applied for an undergraduate program in: Agricultural and Environmental Sciences (including Dietetics and Human Nutrition), Architecture, Arts, Education, Engineering, Environment, Management, Nursing, Occupational Therapy, Physical Therapy, Science, and/or Social Work.
When will McGill make an admission decision?
Please check below to determine when you are likely to receive your admission decision. Should you not receive a decision within the timeframe indicated, it may be that your file is incomplete or that we have not yet completed our review. If you have questions, feel free to contact Enrolment Services by telephone, fax, e-mail or in writing. Thank you for applying to McGill!
