Faculty Lecturer to Senior Faculty Lecturer |
Promotion of a CAS Faculty Lecturer to Senior Faculty LecturerThe Regulations for the promotion of Faculty Lecturers to Senior Faculty Lecturer are contained in Section 5, Article 5.4.2.1 of the Regulations Relating to the Employment of Contract Academic Staff. The departmental criteria regarding promotion are to be approved by the Dean and the Provost. Effective December 11th, 2012, individuals promoted from Faculty Lecturers to Senior Faculty Lecturer will receive a flat increase of $5,000 to salary. |
Assistant Professor to Associate Professor |
Promotion and Tenure of a Tenure-Track Assistant Professor/Assistant Librarian to Associate Professor/Associate LibrarianThe Regulations for the granting of tenure of professorial staff are contained in Section 7, Article 7.4 of the Regulations Relating to the Employment of Tenure Track and Tenured Academic Staff and for librarian staff are contained in Section 3 of the Regulations Relating to the Employment of Librarian Staff . Promotion from Assistant Professor/Assistant Librarian to Associate Professor/Associate Librarian includes consideration for tenure and therefore falls under these regulations. A tenure schedule is prepared each summer in accordance with the Regulations and distributed to Departmental Chairs, Deans and candidates. Effective June 1st, 2005, individuals promoted from Assistant Professor/Assistant Librarian to Associate Professor/Associate Librarian (tenure-stream) will receive a flat increase of $5,000 to salary. Associate Professor to Full Professor |
Promotion of a Tenure-Track/Tenured Associate Professor/Associate Librarian to Full Professor/Full LibrarianThe Regulations for the granting of promotion to Full Professor are contained in Section 8 of the Regulations Relating to the Employment of Tenure Track and Tenured Academic Staff and for Full Librarian in Section 4 of the Regulations Relating to the Employment of Librarian Staff. Effective June 1st, 2005, individuals promoted from Associate Professor/Associate Librarian to Full Professor/Full Librarian (tenure-stream), and who are part of the 2006 cohort and subsequent cohorts, will receive a flat increase of $5,000 to salary. For those staff promoted as part of the 2005 or earlier cohorts, there is no salary increase awarded on promotion to Full Professor/Full Librarian (June 1993). For tenure-stream, upon receipt of the Board letter issued by the Secretariat confirming tenure and/or promotion, the Department (or Faculty where there is no Department) shall process the following Minerva Appointment Form, as applicable:Promotion with Tenure (Assistant to Associate Professor):Use the TENPROMO appointment form, to modify the rank, the start and end dates, and to apply the $5,000 salary increase.Tenure only (Associate or Full Professor):Use the MAINTAIN appointment form to modify the start and end dates.Promotion only (Associate to Full Professor):Use the TENPROMO appointment form, to modify the rank, the start and end dates, and to apply the $5,000 salary increase. |
