Leave Replacement

Leave Replacement Descriptor

Includes those who are appointed at the University as replacements for staff members temporarily on leave.

Appointed for limited terms, usually of one year or less. May be reappointed for further periods, provided that the appointment and reappointments do not exceed three years in aggregate.

Staff appointed to Leave Replacement positions are not eligible for promotion or for consideration for tenure. 

Typically, this descriptor will be used at the rank of Assistant Professor.
