TLS (Teaching & Learning Services)
Teaching and Learning Services (TLS) aids faculties and individual staff members in the improvement of teaching and learning through consultation, workshops, and research. It can provide help in designing courses, in evaluating teaching, and in better understanding the learning task in courses and programs. TLS provides workshops and courses for all and can provide workshops in specific areas requested by Faculty. A small reading room houses books and articles relevant to higher education and particularly to post-secondary teaching and learning. Research at TLS includes projects on the nature of the learning task in different disciplines, on knowledge representations, on intellectual skill acquisition and on the evaluation of learning materials, and is done in conjunction with professors in this university and in others.
TLS can also provide guidance on the preparation of the teaching dossier, an essential component of reappointment and tenure.
