Planning your arrival to McGill

For many students, coming to McGill can be an eye-opening experience. For some, it means moving to a new city, province or even country, and might even include living on their own for the first time. Whatever your student’s situation, he or she will need some advice as they settle into their new home away from home – and the McGill Parents Association is pleased to assist you and your child in planning for this important step.

To help you prepare for your student’s arrival in Montreal, we’ve gathered information on relevant, significant topics such as what to do pre-departure, visiting, moving in, and services that your son or daughter might want to look into such as banking and cellular phones. You can access this information using the links found below or the menu on the left-hand side of the page.

Should you have further questions, we encourage you to visit Parents Tent in August. There, you will get a chance to ask questions to the representatives from key McGill services and from a number of suppliers who will be on hand to present their services.
