"As of July 1st, 2009 the honorific “Emeritus” or “Emerita” is conferred by the Provost, following consultation with the Dean and the departmental Chair, on retired full professors and full librarians who have held that rank for five years and have satisfactorily maintained the standards for which they were appointed to that rank."
